ooma app on iPad does not ring

I have the Ooma app installed on my iPad and it would reliably ring any time there was an incoming call.
Since several month ago this has become intermittent. In at least 50% of cases the iPad app ignores the incoming call. Sometimes it starts to ring long AFTER the call has been answered on HD3 and is no longer active. The whole function has become random and thus unusable. I tried to reinstall the Ooma app and to reboot my router to no avail. Ooma customer service ignored my queries.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
