Amazon Echo Connect alternatives after Amazon shutdown?

I noticed that that my Amazon Echo does no longer announce incoming phone calls.
So, I started troubleshooting, looking at firewall ports etc. All seemed fine.

Then I cam across this article:

One of Amazon's most anachronistic smart home devices, the Echo Connect landline adapter, will stop working on February 29th.

Is there any alternative?
Unfortunately, oama skill still can't do this.

One problem with "smart" devices is that they serve at the whim of the vendor, not the customer. There are some non-"smart" alternatives, such as third-party telephones or Caller ID displays that support "Caller ID announce" (aka "Talking Caller ID").
