Has there been any update to fixing the "This message cannot be displayed because of the way it is formatted. Ask the sender to send it again using a different format or email program.multipart/voice-message" problem?

This is a great featureā€¦if it actually worked.

What program are you using to view voicemail attachments? Or are you using a webmail system?

I have the same problem as well. When I get the email message with the WAV message attached, the iPhone email app says: "This message cannot be displayed because of the way it is formatted. Ask the sender to send it again using a different format or email program.multipart/voice-message."

I suspect that the apple mail program doesn't like the way you're attaching the file. It looks like you're attaching the WAV file inside another attached email. I can play the message perfectly on the iphone when I detach the WAV file in my desktop email client and remail it to myself as a standard attachment.

I'd love to see this fixed as well as this has been the only downside to ooma so far. Otherwise it's awesome! Keep it up!

I'd check out this thread:

Basically the iPhone Mail program will work from certain mail providers (Yahoo!, ActiveSync, etc).

Yes, I understand that, but it should work regardless. I don't want to sign up for a Yahoo account. Hopefully you'll fix that. Any time frame?

This is high on the priority list for a fix, but it doesn't look like it'll be fixed in the near-term. Right now we're a bit restricted in the changes we can make in the current voicemail forwarding system.

I use gmail apps and am having the same problem. I tried an autoforward to another gmail account and then back and that did not do the trick. I set up a yahoo account and now autoforward the vmails to the yahoo account. This works.

It allows you to set 3 notification addresses so I:
1) Send an email to GMail (google apps)
2) Send an email to a Yahoo account
3) I have a filter on Gmail forward a text message to my phone.
The 3rd I don't have set, but will have it sent to my wife's GMail if/when she wants it.

It works well for me. You can turn on Yahoo push and get them instantly, but I set it to manual and just go get it when I get a text or see the email in GMail.

Yahoo is working fine. I look forward to it working in GMail. But no big rush since there's a perfectly acceptable work around.

I know the folks at Ooma work hard. I work for a tiny start up to and know how it is.
