Continued trouble placing international calls

New user of slightly less than a month. I'm very pleased with Ooma's performance with the single exception of dialing international calls. Long story short; it's deplorable.

Ooma provided $50 worth of international calling for purchasing their core product from an authorized retailer. My girlfriend has tried many times to call South Korea with this credit - a credit which expires within 90 days of its rebate.

My girlfriend has had poor luck in successfully connecting to South Korea. Most times, either her call doesn't go through at all, or it goes through - but they cannot hear my girlfriend speaking to them. One, this is very frustrating; two, it is even more frustrating in light of the expiring credit time.

I realize there are other posts/threads concerning this issue, but it is my hope that Ooma moderators see this new thread and realize, by sheer numbers of affected users, the urgency of this customer service issue. International calls are a way of life for some people. I canceled our land line after installing Ooma and now I am at their mercy in resolving this glitch in their system.

If anyone knows of any system settings which I have missed that might alleviate this problem, I would highly appreciate that information.

Oh, and it is salt in our wounds of frustration that we are billed (credit debited) for each of these unsuccessful calls wherein the call is connected - but the other party cannot hear us. It may seem like a few cents here and there (and it is), but they certainly add up quickly with each unsuccessful attempt.

I have the same problem here after conversed for about 30 minutes international call to Hong Kong on 1/25/09 at night, then call got dropped off. I called again after the call is conneted, this time It seemed like there is a block somewhere, that I can hear the other party's voice but the other side cannot hear my voice at all. I placed a few calls and same things happened that night. It seemed to me there is constant issues arised with connecting international call afters reviewing several responses in the forum.

Can you report this instance (along with the number you called) to the support team? We should be following up with any international call failures.

Same problem to Mexico. I can hear the person clearly but they can't hear me. Also, I am being charged, 10 cents a minute for a 3 cents a minute call when the call didn't go through. Otherwise, local service is great.

Same problem for me calling to Turkey. I can hear nothing, not sure other side can hear me. International calling hardly ever works anymore. I also tried other countries (Canada, UK). My $50 referral is about to expire but I can't even use it up.
