I presently have Time Warner cable. high speed and phone. I want to keep the cable TV and high speed. Do I call TWC and ask them for a dry loop installation? There is a modem that is installed for their phone service. I will have to return the telephone modem. Will this screw up my dial tone, etc.?

The term "dry loop" only applies to DSL supplied by a POTS phone company, not cable. As long as you have your cable Internet modem, either rented from TWC or your own, you should be fine.

Also, since you already have phone service with your Cable company, you can decide if you want to keep it as it is now, or tell them to drop the phone service from the monthly bill, but still keep the Internet and/or TV service running. See what the difference is in price between dropping their phone service or paying their 'bundled costs' for both or all three services. Then you will know how much you are going to save each month using just Ooma alone for telephone service. The cable company doesn't have to change anything physically to your current system...just to turn off the phone part.

I also have TWC cable, internet, and phone. I am waiting for my number port to go in effect. Then I'll cancel my phone with TWC. I figure there will be a 9 month payback. Not a bad deal.
