Leave Voicemail alerts on for saved messages
Whenever my wife or I come into the house, we play any new messages. Any that aren’t for us we save for the other person. But the “message waiting” lights on the Telo and HD3 and the voicemail message on the HD3 are turned off. So we have to play voicemail every time we come in the door in case there was a new message for us the other person already played. I wish the lights would stay on without blinking as long as there are any messages in the Inbox. The message on the HD3 could say something like ‘’nn New, ss Saved Messages” where nn is the number of new messages and ss is the number of saved.
Re: Leave Voicemail alerts on for saved messages
What does "the message on the HD3 could say something ... " mean? Is that "say" as in "speak", or "say" as in "display"? Select 'Voicemail' on the HD3, and it literally says something like: "You have [nn] new messages, and [ss] saved messages." Similarly, press the 'Play' key on the Telo, and it literally says the same thing.
The 'New Message' indicator only blinks for new (unheard) messages, but not for saved (heard) messages. However, Ooma also provides several methods for marking new messages as saved, marking saved messages as new, and keeping new or saved messages marked as-is, when accessing voicemail:

- From the Telo, press 'Fast Forward' while a new message is playing to keep it marked as new, and to skip to the next message. Press 'Play' while any message is playing, to keep it marked as-is, and to exit voicemail immediately.
- From any telephone, press '6' while a new message is playing to keep it marked as new, and to skip to the next message. Press '9' while a saved message is playing, to mark it as new. Press '*' while any message is playing, to keep it marked as-is, and to exit the current menu immediately.
- From the 'My Ooma' Voicemail page, select one or more messages and then use the 'More Actions' dropdown menu to mark them as either new (unheard), or saved (heard).
Re: Leave Voicemail alerts on for saved messages
OK, I see how that works now. I think we'll like being able to control whether messages stay "new" or "saved" a lot. Thanks for your help.
