Oh, capisco. Ho studiato l'italiano, ma non sono fluente, e molti mi ridono.

Fortunately, I'm off the hook. Neither bassoon in English (according to the OED), nor fagotto in Italian (according to my dictionaries), seems to carry any other meaning than the largest double-reed woodwind in the orchestra. But it's a fine bilingual pun anyway. Mi piace.
