*99 On automatically for dedicated reciever

OK, so can we do this or not?

Canon tech support states that my MFP doesn't have the ability unless the number's in speed dial.
When asked which model does support global prefix I'm told "None".

This *99 is an absolutely useless "feature" in my configuration.

Has anyone determined a workaround?

Dial the number manually starting with *99 pause.
Store the number in a speed dial location with *99 pause as the beginning of the number.

If you have a Telo, you can enable fax mode for all incoming and outgoing calls. Fax mode uses the G.711 codec, which uses more bandwidth and can have a higher incidence of echo. It's the equivalent of dialing *99 before the call.

Bummer, mine's a hub/scout.
I wonder if I could do something to the extent of trading it in & keep the forever service that came with it, but applied to the Telo as a second line.

At one time the option was available on the Hub too. Read the thread that I linked. It may come back in the future.

I would bet that you could get it configured on your Hub if you ask.

Do you have Premier Lifetime? If you purchase a Telo, you can transfer the account to the Telo and sell or gift the Hub to someone else.

The Hub would require a $59.99 re-activation fee to have it re-activated by the someone else. Also, the new terms of service would apply including the $11.75 / year fee (after the first year).

Thanks for the heads up on his offer. I asked & will post so we can all see how it goes.

The whole reason behind my Ooma purchase was to eliminate recurring expenses, & thus there are not currently nor are there plans to ever provision subscription service of any sort with Ooma.

Personally, I think the price is too high unless you're in it for the long haul, however I also believe there's value in the convienence of 1 less payment to account for.

There very well may be another option in the settings somewhere to enter a prefix, NOT only at the individual numbers, but another place to preset a prefix for all numbers dialed just like needing to dial 9 to get an outside line...

Well, thanks to one of the 2 links and an Ooma moderator, "fax mode" aka. "high bandwidth mode" has been enabled upon request on Ooma's backend for my account & now it's a dead issue.
However since you asked, the model is Canon ImageClass MF4350d, & again- Canon even said it's not an available option.
