The dial tone drives me up the wall but I've learned to pick the phone up and dial before I up it to my ear. But what I don't like you hear it again when the call is answered. But I'm saving so much money on my home phone and my family plan on the cells I've just learn to deal with it. But I do wish that they would get rid of the OOMA dial tone.

You can get rid of the connection tone (the one when call is answered) through the lounge.

The one that you "hear again" when the call is answered can be disabled in the ooma lounge. I have disabled mine, since it is only useful on the integrated landline feature.

At first, I found the the OOMA dial tone to be very strange, but now I kind of like it.

In all seriousness though, I think it should be an option. Not everyone is going to like it, so I don't see why there shouldn't be an option of having a normal tone.

My daughter thinks it's cute.

I wrote that. Do you know the dictionary definition of gay? There are other meanings in case you don't know. I just don't like the tone trying to be too cute.

Sure. I'm sure the poster meant no offense. In many cultures it is still used to convey levity. From dictionary.com:

Same here. (At least after I disabled the Ooma Connection tone... now that was annoying.)
