Sound alert when voicemail is received
Some companies have the ability to leave a voicemail without ringing your phone.
The only way that I know that the voicemail is there, is if I happen to see the red arrow light on my telo.
I would appreciate being notified via a sound on the telo when a voicemail is left.

Re: Sound alert when voicemail is received
Pick up any handset & you should hear a 'special' dial tone when there are new VMs.
Re: Sound alert when voicemail is received
I have never heard any different dial tone.
Where in the OOMA instructions and settings is this referred to?
Thanks,

I'm sorry. I was incorrect.; I've been working with someone else's phone system recently & got used to this feature, but can't seem to trigger it on my Telo. With Ooma, the stutter means you have "do not disturb" enabled. Pity

Why not have it text you that you have voicemail?

You can go here to set up a text notifcation: https://my.ooma.com/preferences/voicemail
Also, you can get a message waiting indicator light that you will not miss. Just plug it into a wall jack in your home and stick it wherever. It has an adhesive backing. It blinks, so it is hard to miss:
From Sandman.com http://www.sandman.com/messwait.html
FSK MESSAGE WAITING LIGHT
FSK Message Waiting Indicator
Large bright RED light in a black housing.
Flashes when it detects a message.
Line Powered. No power cube needed!
Works on phone lines and analog station ports with 24 to 48 volt talk battery and FSK Message Waiting. It's NOT triggered by stutter dial tone... only by FSK.
This is the only Message Waiting light we sell that has any possibility of working on a regular home or office phone line (or Centrex) from the Phone Company, or a VoIP device that gives you something that looks like a phone line.

Re: Sound alert when voicemail is received
Thanks to all for your responses.
I already have an email sent to myself when a message is received, but basically I was just asking OOMA to make a change in their software so that not only it turn on the little lighted arrow, they could also give a tone to catch your attention. I prefer to not have to purchase an add on to accomplish this.
