It needs to answer after the second ring for the caller ID to be received reliably.

The Screen Machine has two settings. One for those who have caller ID, and one for those who don't. I chose the setting for those who do have caller ID. I tested it a couple of times, and both times the correct caller ID showed up on the phone, but the info disappeared once the digit was pressed and the phone started ringing.
