Ooma charges $9.99 per month for 40 messages and 25 cents for all additional messages. Since $9.99 divided by 40 is 25 cents where is the benefit there? Why not just allow us to turn on and off the service as we wish and bill us for our usage. Better yet offer an annual subscription for a reasonable price. Google Voice does this for free so why use Ooma Voice to Text???

Probably because they want the revenue every month in order to pay for the service. GV does it for free because it's completely machine-based transcription. Read this for an example of accuracy: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5884&start=100#p53974
