I stand corrected. I just picked up a Telo at best buy today. 250 plus tax. They didnt have any handsets yet. One interesting item I noticed. On the back of the box in fine print it reads:
"A fee for regulatory and other costs of $11.75 per year applies in the second year and beyond and is subject to change." Is this only for the telo, or will this apply to the original hub as well?

I am eager to pick up the new Telo myself. To those who have already purchased it, is it packaged the way the hub was, high quality packaging in a sturdy and durable box, or does it come in a throw away paper-maché sleeve?

The packaging is still high quality, almost Apple like. The hub is much smaller as well. I just got off the phone with ooma support. I was trying to port my current ooma # to the telo. Support said that nothing can be done with the telo until the official release date of oct 1. Also, it cant be activated until then, I tried and got an invalid mac # message. When I told support I had a telo, he said best buy shouldn't be selling them yet. I never told him where I got it so people must be calling in telling support that they just got a telo from best buy and cant activate it. Oh well, at least I'll be ready on Thursday.

...is it supposed to interface with any DECT handset? Are there 'tuning' buttons/switches? There has to be some way to marry it to the wireless handset you have I presume.

Does Ooma transmit your phone number info to the Telo, or do you have to do that yourself?

As time permits, write a couple of lines about how things work post 1 Oct.

...ride on!

I would imagine the only way to use it with any DECT handsets you currently have is to plug the base for those handsets directly into the hub via the "phone" jack, like you would for the current ooma hub.

I doubt you can "marry" any existing DECT handsets to the hub wirelessly. You'd only be able to do that with the ooma HD handsets.

Anyone know if this is being sold online anywhere yet? Supposed to be available today but I can't find one online anywhere?

Thanks!

Bill
