I am being plagued by a telemarketer. He has called so many times that I easily recognize his voice. Each time he calls the caller ID is different. One time CA, the next time FL and so on. I usually just respond with some crazy off the wall response, but I am getting tired of it. I know I could just ignore it and let voice mail answer but I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to stop it. I am on all the national do not call lists and I keep adding his ID to my black list, but I would really like to permanently block him. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate hearing them. I remember a similar situation occurring to me back in 1995, but it wasn’t a telemarketer . . . It was a bill collector. I handled the situation by telling him how much I loved talking to him. When he called, I would talk about anything but his chosen topic, i.e. the weather, current politics, etc.

After the third call, he stopped calling. I don’t know if my plan worked, or if asking him for a date ended our conversations . . .

I always like to say just a second and wait about 2 or 3 minutes and then get on the phone and say I'm almost done and wait another 5 minutes. If he is still there I keep saying it . They get the message. They have a quota to make and staying on the line for 1/2 hour without talking to anybody won't make their quota.

That's what caller ID is for!
If the ID is not recognizable I just let it go to VM... why bother answering an unknown caller?

I remember one other time that was a sales call. I answered the phone and obviously I had nothing better to do, I talked to the guy for about 15 minutes. When he asked for the sale I then told him I was not the home owner and could not authorize anything because I was a guest. He hung up on me!

If he is using a different number all the time, then you will never be able to totally block him.

I know and that is what is so frustrating about it.
