Download Speed affected by ooma?

Does anyone notice that downloads take alot longer with ooma than without it. When downloading files and saving them to my hard drive it seems to take alot longer than before I had ooma installed. While surfing the web seems to be unaffected (not slower or faster) with ooma installed. Also when I do a speedtest check it shows the same speeds with omma installed as without. Just want to know if this is normal to see slower download speeds?

Not normal for me. No difference with/without ooma.

I do a 'bit' of downloading and have not experienced any slow downs. Could be network traffic on download site has increased. One thing I have noticed on site's I've used is the time of day I download makes a difference.

Speed connections are not the only thing that affects internet traffic. I prefer to have the ooma behind the router such as

modem>router>ooma
I wouldn't put a computer behind the ooma, its really not necessary, but before you change anything go to the link below and run the test and post your stats. That could lead you to where your problem is.

What is your service speed?
Your test show 1.3 Mbps down
But of more importance is your Quality of Service is 9%!

You need to configure the QoS engine in your router to better match your actual speeds. That will improve your flow of traffic in and out, and raise this figure.

Wow, I just noticed that. Last time I tested mine it was 99%.
Is there a typo?
I sure hope so....

I think that is right because the max download pause is 1524 ms!

That's a really long time for a computer to wait for a packet to come in, imagine waiting 1.5 seconds for a byte of data to come in. Doesnt matter if the pipe is 10 feet wide (download speed) if it just bounce around inside and never comes out!
