Could someone clarify the fees taxes....specifically when I put in my zip code I get a charge of about 3.47 per month. But there is no charge for state tax. I believe there shouldn't be since their is no monthly phone bill. Could someone explain this? Is the 3.47$ charge accurate?

Hello,

Currently, Ooma is absorbing the state & local taxes if any. Once we implement state & local taxes in our system, they will be passed on to the consumers if applicable.

My understanding is there are some original Ooma users that are locked into a NO FEE service.
My Ooma was purchased and activated earlier this year and will have an $11.99 tax and fees charge per year.
New Ooma's as of this spring will have a monthly fee of aprox $3.69/month (varies by area).

I believe this is correct??? :?

Is there any units out there in the stores that still have the $11.99 tax and fees on the box, and if so, will Ooma activate them as such?

My understanding is yes; look here. Also, there are still ooma Core units out there brand new. Those will activate with original terms & conditions (no tax).

Hello,

Affirmitive. If you find a golden egg, you're one of the lucky ones.

ok now how much is the state fees going to be?

When I first purchased the OOMA I was under the impressiion that the fees were 11.99 per month.

I then sign up and find out that its about 45$ a month.

Now I'm finding out that there will be an increase in state tax to god know how much.

Why are there so many levels of fees that are charged?

I feel like im in a pyramid scheme.

Why are different people being charged different fees for the same service?

This can't be legal!

CAn someone tell me exactly what the state fees are going to be!

$45 per year maybe, certainly not per month.

Click here and enter your zip code.

The fees will probably be different in each state.

It all depends on your retail box; the way ooma is currently honoring terms/conditions.

As explained by this post by ooma staff.

If your box says nothing about tax, then you don't pay tax.

If your box says $11.75 per year, then when you start paying, you'd be paying $11.75 per year.

If your box says monthly, then use the calculator and put in your zip to see how much you'll be paying in taxes. Additional local taxes might show up in the result in the future.

Asking this here, since I didn't get a reply on another thread.

My daughter recently (3 weeks ago) bought an Ooma Hub refurb from Fry's Electronics, but now she has changed her mind and has decided to go with the Telo instead. Some additional questions:

1) The old hub requires a $3.47/mo RRF after the 1st month, and that's what we see when we look at her account online. The new Telo box says the fee will be roughly $11.75 after the 1st year. Does this mean after activating the new Telo, her account should change so that her RRF will actually be roughly $11.75 after the 1st year?

2) She currently has a number port in progress. WIll swapping out the old hub for the new Telo affect the porting process at all?

Thanks for any help.

That part shouldn't matter at all.
