OOMA Connection Interferes With Smart TV

Post by AFOSAWIPS » Fri Jul 06, 2018 6:34 am

About the time I hooked up my OOMA I started to have issues with my Smart TV WIFI connectivity. It may work for a while but then say it can't connect. Something about Router settings (("PPPOE?"). The solution (for the moment) is a router reboot. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I chose to hook up the OOMA between the router and the modem, so all "traffic" goes "through" the OOMA device. Could it work to hook up the OOMA after the router? I don't want to change the setup unnecessarily (and with no improvement) in order not to mess up my OOMA service.

My Telos have been behind my router since I got them.

Your mention of PPPOE makes me ask if you have DSL? That is the only service that I am aware of that uses PPPOE. If not, reconfigure your Telo from Automatic to use DHCP in the built-in web page. Also set it to use the built-in MAC address.
