Billing to Credit Card

Post by Agent99 » Thu May 03, 2018 1:01 pm

We recently switched to a credit card that offer 2% cashback for recurring charges. Apparently merchant (Ooma in this case) needs to use a recurring Payment indicator for cashback to be applied correctly.

Do Ooma do this automatically, or can it be done for our account?

Thanks

This is what Scotiabank Visa said:
We confirm that some merchants do not have the Recurring Payment indicator when
processing the transactions and therefore customers will not be getting the 2%
cashback rewards on their recurring payments. For the cashback to be properly applied, It is
required that the merchant undertakes a change at their end.

Lots of Reads, but no Answers :(

It's not a big deal at basic rate, but would be for anyone using additional services.

This doesn't make a lot of sense to me. If you buy something from another merchant, once a month (Amazon as an example) don't you get your 2 percent? Why should Ooma be any different? To me the fault is with the credit card company. You should get two percent back with any purchases. I do with my credit card company.

It probably doesn't help that, at least for me, Ooma's charges change almost every month.
