I assume a telo does not come w/ a battery inside that wd kick in if power goes out - like cheap alarm clocks -- but is there some way to add some sort of battery backup that cd be connect to the power link to the telo to keep it running in the event of a power failure? Comcast sells battery backups for $35 that will keep power to the model for 8 hrs, which wd capture more power failures. I thought that wd be sufficient to keep telephony going , too, until I saw that ooma does not seem to have battery back up options.

Plug the Telo into an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS). The batteries for the amplifiers on the poles in Comcast's network will last up to 1.5 hours. After that there won't be any internet.
