Red Lights on 1 & 2 and the Ooma tab

Post by lfbrockm » Wed Feb 04, 2009 8:31 am

I have had a working Ooma system running over Comcast cable. Yesterday my cable went out briefly. Afterwards I noticed Ooma was not working and discovered the number 1 & number 2 buttons were red along w/the Ooma tab. I unplugged power to my Ooma, cable modem, and router and that did not fix it. My cable is working fine now so I don't understand what to do to make this work again. HELP!!

If you check the troubleshooting section in the manual, you'll see your problem is caused by ooma not being to able to access network. Is your ooma the first in the chain after the cable box? How do you know your cable connection works?

I misstated my connection, it's over Comcast's internet not 'cable' but I think they refer to it as 'cable internet'. In any case, it was working and then it stopped so my connections were all correct. I just need to get it back to a working state again.

Your problem is with your internet connection not ooma. If ooma has no connection through certain ports it will not work. Check the manual.

You are right. It was my internet connection. Thanks
