After porting my number, is my number still unlisted?
I have paid for unlisted telephone service for years. My name is not in the local phone book and I don't want it to be. If I port this number to ooma, will my name be listed in the local directory and if so, is there any option to opt out?

Hi gadgetnut,
ooma does NOT submit phone numbers (new or ported) in directory listings.

Conversely, I am porting a business number I would PREFER (it isn't a deal-breaker) to have listed. Any chance of that in the future? Thx.

Probably not the most convenient way of doing it, but if you wanted to list your residential/business phone number, you'd need contact your local yellow pages. There's also a few places online where you could list your phone number, including yellowpages.com and google local business center

You couldn't pay me (let alone have me pay them) enough to shake the yellow pages tree again, but I am a huge Google fan and I'll check out the possibilities with them. Thanks once again, Mojo.

Thanks for keeping the numbers unlisted. I too paid a lot to keep my number unlisted over years.
