Handset Deactivation

I got a handset from Amazon, but the charger didn't work. I've been playing with both handsets and I will say not only are they supported, but they seem to work great even though my Telo is in the basement in the network closet. As reported by others, battery life could be better but that's a minor thing to us.

Question: Before I send the handset/charger back to Amazon, I'd like to deactivate it (unpair it with Telo). How is that done?
