Porting - average time?
You are right. Except call forwarding is down too!
But I agree, it's time to address this. It is a serious issue.

Re: Porting - average time?
Submitted my Porting request on January 25th 2009, received a message a week later that I need to re-submit info. To this day (April 13th) We have yet to receive a call back from OOMA when they told us that they would, and Porting is still not done. Is this OOMA giving me the runaround?
The call quality and features are otherwise awesome and I have recommended this product and literally 'sold' the idea to over a hundred people now. Wondering if I made a wrong choice now, especially with the system being down almost all day today. Calling into tech support just gives me a busy signal from my land line phone.

Re: Porting - average time?
My porting took right at 30 days. As stated by the other responses you will get an e-mail telling you exactly what day the porting will take place. This e-mail gave me adequate time to notify AT&T that I no longer needed their services.
Re: Porting - average time?
Man oh man, everyone is getting a date of when and I have not gotten that. What I did get was them taking the money and that they would send me a date. No port yet and it has been a month and two weeks since I started the porting process. I have help to sell some of these to my friends and they are getting dates and great customer service.

Re: Porting - average time?
I was supposed to port today. I think it is now stuck in limbo with the power outage. My land line does not work now either.

Porting from landline with DSL
I am currently in process of porting my Qwest landline (with DSL) to Ooma. I understand that Ooma strongly suggested to dry-loop my DSL from my landline before porting. However, Qwest has reassured me many times with different CSRs that my DSL will NOT be disconnected when the porting occurs. If I insist of dry-looping my DSL from my landline, Qwest will need to have a technician come over and it will cost me around $100.
Anyone has any experience of porting from landline (with DSL) without dry-looping?
Any response is appreciated.
