My Caller ID Information

Hi there, I assume when my number is finally ported to Ooma; the caller ID information that will be displayed to others when we call them is "My" name as I'm the account creator, however I would like to display something else, basically my Whole family's last name along with the 's or something like "LastName Family".

I have been looking at the My Ooma settings and I see where you can change your account profile name, if I change it there, will that actually show as my Caller ID info or is this something I must contact customer service about?

This is telling me if I change the account's name https://my.ooma.com/account/profile before the port initiation, the caller-id should be provisioned to the updated name. Don't change it back until your caller-id is provisioned properly (as reflected when calling outside line).

Provisioning outbound Caller-ID Name

The Ooma support team provisions the CNAM for every Ooma-hosted number based on the first and last name on your account. We provision your caller-ID name through several carrier and caller-ID providers. The provisioning process usually completes within 5 business days after you have activated your Ooma phone number or have chosen a virtual number (available with Ooma Premier). After this time, please allow at least 2 weeks for the CNAM information to propagate through various CNAM databases.

If you decide to port your phone number, Ooma will re-provision your caller-ID name. The provisioning process can not start until the porting process completes, which usually takes 3-4 weeks.

So lbmofo, I want my Caller ID name to show up different than what my profile info shows up now, my port has already been initiated, but has not been completed, Is there a chance for me to change that information? or should I wait till the port is complete, then call costumer service ?

If you call after it is a done deal (provisioning of callerid), change will cost you $19.99.
Not sure if it is too late right now since the number is not yet serviced by Ooma, I would ask ntoy or Bobby B instead of messing with CS on this one off type situation.
