I did find a very nice free service that will service my purpose. It is http://www.myfax.com/free. One can send free computer faxes from anywhere to 41 countries. The limitation is two per 24 hours and 10 pages max and file no larger than 10 mb.

THAT SITE WILL SUIT MY NEEDS!

THANK YOU SHAWN AND OTHERS ON THIS FORUM. :D

Maybe Ooma can make a faxing app where you can upload document files to be faxed and recieve an email confirmation.

One day printer companies will be smarter and integrate document scanning with email/contacts send functionality into printers. Banks already accept checks by photo recognition & uploading (best with 3+ megapixel cameras). Even resumes being faxed is becoming frowned upon-- email & internet is taking over.

Haven't faxed for a long long long long time. Today I had to file disputed charges with credit card company and they couldn't take emailed pdf. Either snail mail or fax. I chose fax. Went with *99 with old Hub and a 2 pager went through the 2nd time. 1st time, all seemed to work fine but at the end the status page told me to re-transmit. Although it failed the fist try, it worked oaky for me.

This forum was so helpful to me, I just wanted to list my success story for faxing with Ooma.

My fix was relatively easy. I am faxing with an older HP OfficeJet 5610.

1) *99
2) Hit Pause button one time
3) Dial fax number WITHOUT the 1
4) Hit send

It worked with multiple pages and both through the feeder and on glass.

Thanks for your help. Ain't the Internet great!

Yes it is, let's keep it that way. Pay it forward. Visit the EFF website on May 15 and voice your support for net neutrality with the FCC.

Great products like Ooma depend on a free and neutral internet.
