Look at this morning, while everyone was crying foul and outage, no Ooma mods were here to update the status page.

As I suggested, in the OP, to make a "community" effort to let each other know when outage strikes.

'get my point? Its more of a group effort to raise awareness
Yes, but a status page can be update by a bot or a cron job as the *nix say. Well, we need some one to make that happen.

Again, why go to another website to report these things. What's wrong with posting right here on the ooma forums? People have been looking for answers to serious questions. Why do they need to search for information for important issue's such as outage's. I NEVER would have considered going to Twitter to get updates on an outage or any other ooma related matter. But, that's just me.
I'm second this. What's wrong with this

or even better

Ha! See Tommies get's it,..lol
It seems so much easier to me to post on your companies own website.
What happens when they are asleep and not updating the tweets?
I feel this what happened this morning. I don't think any one at ooma new about the outage this morning until they came to work.
There should be some type of automated response that wake's/alerts some one.

As I said on an earlier post, it's the job of a bot, and some one have to make it happen.

Yeah, I can understand your viewpoint.

Create a script to monitor the VPN.. if the VPN breaks, then an email blast and/or update be sent to the webpage and/or twitter.

Makes sense...
