Your above quoted configuration is the way you should safely configure your network and its working for you too
Basically let your router do its job (route) let OOMA do its job (VOIP server) and everything is cool. It wouldn't hurt since we're talking internet applications to throw a firewall up there too but you've probably got some firewall type support in your router that you can enable to help protect your network.
