So, I initiated my port request on 23 Sep. Received email that said it would be complete by 17 Oct. Received email this morning that is was complete!
Power cycled the Ooma and viola, my landline number rings to the Ooma.
The odd thing is that my old phones on the land line still work and will make outgoing calls.
I am with CenturyLink (formerly QWEST) as a DSL subscriber and made no previous arrangements for "dry looping". SO I called and they said it was scheduled for 1 Oct. I specifically asked and they said a tech would come to the house for some wiring changes.
Anyway, so far everything is pretty smooth.
