I have been with OOMA for several months. I have had no problems and love the service. I ported my number from Cox and then canceled my Cox phone service. I received a letter from Cox yesterday and was told that unless I resumed my phone service with Cox that I would be charged $7 a month for rental of my modem. Which modem do you recommend I buy that works well with OOMA? When I buy a new modem, do I just unplug the old modem and plug in the new modem? Thanks.

I recommend Motorola SB6121.
Call cable company and they will swap out the modem into your own over the phone. They will want the MAC address of your new modem.
