e911 info???
To Ooma Support:
How will I know if my e911 is working properly?
Today I had to call AAA, abd they routed me to a Syracuse, NY number...when I am in Southern California.
This got me worried about 911... is this the norm with Ooma?

Re: e911 info???
Hi trim81,
Strange thing about the AAA -- were you calling from a NY phone number? They might use the area code to route the call.
For E911, ooma will use the service address information you entered during the activation process. You can always verify and update this information in the ooma Lounge (under the "Account" tab). This service address should always be the physical address where the ooma Hub is located.
Thanks,
Bobby

I got routed to AAA call center in Syracuse New York.
Also, as an fyi: I called 800-444-4444 (MCI number which checks your calling number) and it says my number is actually (585)919-0301 <---thats a New York number
-Everything works great, so I am not complaining. I am just curious as to how e911 will work in an event of an emergency so I can prepare myself.
**As a side note, if the records in the Ooma lounge is updated to a new address, how soon will it hit the systems so e911 will be updated?
Re: e911 info???
Funny I just did the same test and MCI says I am calling from (585)919-0301 as well.
