Re: HD2 Handset freezes at "Connecting..."
My HD2 handset has worked well for a long time. Today it was stuck on "searching". Eventually I decided to unregister the HD2 handset and then re-register. After unregistering the handset now it will not re-register. It is stuck on handset not registered. I hold the tower button and the telo goes into registration mode but nothing appears on the handset. Rebooted both, no change. Now what?
Re: HD2 Handset freezes at "Connecting..."
Your telo has run into the issue at viewtopic.php?f=9&t=19810. Please power cycle the telo. Telo will boot up, then show blinking red logo with blue stop button. Wait for the telo to go all blue. Then after a few seconds DECT should be operational. If not try another power cycle.
Re: HD2 Handset freezes at "Connecting..."
My HD2 handsets show 'Connecting...' - I called this in earlier and went through all the troubleshooting steps. Can you please see if an update was pushed down to my base Telo please?
Re: HD2 Handset freezes at "Connecting..."
[telo1 is the one where all buttons are lit]
Dial *#*#001 and the telo will speak the version number. Note this matches the release at viewtopic.php?f=10&t=19838.
It doesn't look your handsets have upgraded yet.
Do they still show Connecting?
Do they beep twice when placed into a powered cradle?
Try rebooting the HS by holding down the red hangup key (or re-insert batteries).
Expected sequence is:
1. HS stuck in Connecting
2. telo upgrades to 131708/131709
3. telo reboots, HS transitions to scanning state
4. DECT module upgrades (on telo1 will see blinking red logo + blue stop button, after 5 min telo turns all blue) *
5. HS transitions from scanning state to 'Software update required'
6. Place the HS firmly on powered cradle (should hear 2 beeps) and within a few seconds the HS should start upgrading
7. Once upgraded the HS in the Information screen will show HS version 131299
On older telo1 a power cycle may be required for the DECT module upgrade to complete. Wait for step 4 above to finish. If after the reboot the HS still doesn't register or respond, try a second power cycle. If that still doesn't solve the problem it means the DECT chip on the telo has gone bad and can no longer be upgraded. Call support.
* starting with release 147445 telo1, once in service, now blinks the logo blue during a DECT module upgrade
---------------
Older Telo1 in MAC range 04xxxx - 0Cxxxx support two DECT modes: HD1 and HD2 (HD2 mode also applies to Linx, Headset, and Safety Phone). HD1 is the first generation HS. On these telo1 you can switch to the respective modes using *#*#301 and *#*#302. HD1 requires a pin when pairing.
The *#*#301/*#*#302 codes do not apply to newer telo1 or to telo2 because these telo do not support the HD1.
You will know the DECT module has failed to upgrade (i.e. can't start) when it speaks a pin code when enabling pairing. It could also mean the telo1 is in HD1 mode, but that can only happen if you dial *#*#301. In other words if the DECT module is failing to start, dialing *#*#302 won't solve the problem (most definitely not on telo that don't support HD1).
If a HS is stuck in scanning state press Menu on the HS, select unregister, then re-register according to the instructions on the screen. If that doesn't solve the problem power cycle the telo and try again.

ps. Starting with telo1 firmware 147445 the DECT module upgrade behaves a little differently. Telo1 will go all blue once in service (dialtone) and then blink blue four times every 5 sec until the DECT module upgrade completes or times out.
