If you live in a house with Telco wiring: It's still good and works for E911, unless someone disconnected the wire in the outside box (telco don't disconnect it when you cancel the service)... Any cell phone active or inactive also works.
Really there is no need to go overboard spending extra because someone said so.

Afte reading over 30 pages and 1000's of posts:

There is a major shipping delay for most users who accepted the hub2telo offer.
I'll wait until next year once an other offer of the same or better value is offered.

Placed upgrade order on 11/26. How do I find out if this has shipped? Chatted with Customer Service last week and was told it process but no shipping notice has arrived.

I received my Telo (thanks for your help, Tom).

Now that I have the new hardware, I am wondering if anyone in the past couple weeks/months is unhappy with their decision to migrate to the telo. I'm not so much concerned about any setup issues that can, presumably, be fixed with some effort. I am more interested in quality of calls and/or dropped calls versus the core.

It's difficult for me to unplug something permanently if its been working so well for us.
