Internet down using Ooma

Post by charlesb » Sun Jul 14, 2019 1:02 pm

My Ooma is located between my modem and router. Everything has been working with no issues for months (even years) until last weekend when the Internet on the network and could only be restored by removing the Ooma as the broidge between the modem and router.

I saw on an older thread (https://www.ooma.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=15370)that Ooma spoofs the MAC address is passes along for some reason. My network is access controlled using MAC addresses and I used the one under the Ooma unit. Evidently that doesn't work anymore. Does the Ooma still use the spoofing? If so, how can I turn that off by connecting directly to my computer. The IP address in the above thread doesn't resolve. and it won't show up on the network if it is using a spoofed address.

Hopefully, I can resolve this soon or else it will be adios Ooma!

Put Ooma behind your router. I have two of them there because I have a gigabit network and Ooma is 100 megabits per second max.

You can turn spoofing off by connecting a computer by LAN cable to the Home jack. If the computer has wireless, disable it.
