HD3 Handset Battery 50%

Post by McRob » Thu Apr 09, 2020 7:30 pm

I just received a new HD3 handset and I am having what appears to be a common issue.
I installed the batteries supplied with the unit and all worked well for a while.
Within a couple of hours the HD3 reported 50% battery life left while the unit is on the charger.
I called technical support and they suggested i replace the new batteries with new batteries.
I found the specifications as 1.2 Volt 750 mah NMH.
After replacement of the batteries the unit reported 100% battery life again.
Within a couple of hours while on the charger the unit again reported 50% charge.
If I quickly remove one battery and then reconnect it the unit immediately shows 100% charge again.
If I leave the unit on the charger it always goes back to 50% charge within a couple of hours.

I think it's time to return the unit.
Can anyone provide advise?

The handset may not be making good contact with the charging contacts. Make sure the contacts always return to the up position and don't get stuck in a lower position.

I have the same problem, and it also shows 100% after removing / putting back a battery. I don't see any problem with the charging contacts.

I chatted with Ooma support, followed their suggestion and now, 6 hours later, battery is still at 100%. The procedure is :

* go to menu/settings then select unregister
* remove the batteries for about 20 seconds
* put the batteries back in
* register your device to the telo
