People these days don't seem to realize that every phone number is not a cell phone. I get too many "but I sent you a text" from acquaintances, so far I've resisted the reply to them "every freaking phone number is not a cell phone!
It would also be a big help now that many logins are requiring two-factor authorisation where they SMS a code to you for login.

Ooma is an analog phone system. There is no provision to send digital data over the analog backbone.
