Static on Line sometimes

Post by Chappster » Mon Aug 03, 2020 1:24 pm

Here lately when someone calls and we answer, there is nothing but static for a lack of a better term. It's not exactly static but a loud noise that only we hear. The caller hears nothing, including our voices. It doesn't happen all the time, more often than not though. Nothing on our internet has changed, we haven't added any devices, service or anything that could cause this that I know of, it's been working great since we bought the unit. We have a phone base that is directly connected to the ooma (ooma bought in 2012 or so) that is wireless to three other phones. We don't use the physical house lines at all. We just went out and replaced the phones to rule that out. Don't really know what to look for, as I said, nothing has changed and it just started doing it.

"Phone base is directly connected to the Ooma"
Are they at least 3 feet apart? Are the new phones DECT 6?
Do you use Ooma phones or the Linx?
By default the Telo has a DECT transmtter that is on.

If the new phones use DECT 6 the transmitter in the Telo can block the receiver in the cordless base if they are too close.
If you don't use Ooma phones or the Linx connect to the web page inside of the Telo, select the DECT tab and disable the transmitter.
