Forum index not indicating new posts

Since the latest forum update/changes, the main "Board index" page is no longer giving any indication for forums that contain new posts. Can this feature be re-enabled?

Make this a permanent link. It will create a list of all of the new posts.

Yes, I know about viewing "new posts" but indicating new posts on the "Board index" page is something this forum used to do. Is there a reason the feature can no longer be made available?

In the normal view, there used to be an icon in front of each major section that would be red if there were new posts. That is gone and I have to use my last login date/time and then look at each listing to see which might have something newer.
