Hello,
I have a hard time finding the right AAA 1.5V batteries for the Ooma HD3 handset. I know it must be Ni-MH type according to the manual. I have tried 1.2V. They don't work. So where can I find AAA 1.5V, Ni-MH, 1000mAh batteries?

No where. NiMH batteries are 1.2 volts. Only Alkaline primary (not rechargeable) cells are 1.5 volts.
I don't have an HD3 but the batteries in my HD2 are NiMH 1.2V 1800 mAh. The brand is EPT and they were made in China.

On my HD3, they are GP brand 75AAAHC, 1.2V, 750mAh. You should be able to use a higher rated capacity (850mAh+), and get longer life.

On that page, the gray batteries are designed for high recharge cycle counts. Useful if you often run the battery nearly all the way down before recharging.
