Caller ID problem

Post by GeorgeH » Mon Jun 28, 2021 3:19 pm

Hi guys. I'm new to Ooma. Still trying to figure it out.
Problem: When I call out from my Ooma, the call comes up on the other person's caller ID as being from "Breslin, Philip", (whoever the heck that is) instead of displaying my name.
How do I fix that?
Thanks guys.

Caller ID comes from several databases. Presumably Ooma sent your caller ID information out to all of the databases. Many of them take their time in adding the data to their database. Give it a week before you try to fix it.

Ok, Thanks Murphy. I'll give it a few days.

Hey guys, it's been almost a month.
I'm still having the same caller ID problem.
My friends won't answer their phone because they think it's from "Breslin, Philip" instead of from me!
The caller ID database has still not been updated!
This is annoying.
What do I do next?
Thanks everyone.

Contact customer support and tell them that your caller id is wrong and has apparently never been updated from the previous user of the number since you opened your account.

Do you know if it is right for anyone? A cell phone would use a different database than a landline.
This will determine if there is a laggard database operator or if Ooma never sent the update.

Do you have Premier? If you do you can specify by a dialing code whether or not you want the line 1 or line 2 caller ID to be used on an outgoing call.
