Disable Instant Second Line

Disable Instant Second Line

Hi. I set my 90 year-old grandparents up with a Telo and a few HD3 handsets. They're on the phone constantly and when another call comes in, they go bonkers when the other handsets ring. Life would be easier for everyone involved if the new incoming call was just sent straight to voicemail.

I am not able to easily get to their house to call Ooma support to disable Call Waiting or Instant Second Line. So, I tried doing it via web chat. The agent repeatedly had no clue what I was trying to achieve. Is there a phrase to get this done via chat or should I just call-in and do it? Is it possible to disable either of these from the web UI or on the handsets themselves?

I’m new to Ooma, but I believe this will fix things for you:

In myOoma
Preferences
System
Uncheck Enable call-waiting indication
Save
Click on the name at top right and hit Logout

I haven’t personally tried it l, but sounds like it should work.
