Speed Dial Keys - Program

I need help programming the Speed Dial Keys.
Somehow I got the 2nd Key Programmed, but I don't know how I did it.

Can someone please provide a step by step instructions on how to program them?

Different phones may have different instructions. Which phone is this for? Ooma's DP1? HD2? HD3? Safety pendant? Or a third party phone?
