Caller ID

Post by kdmc69 » Wed Nov 19, 2008 9:21 am

For at least the third time, I have had my phone ring and the caller ID indicates that I am calling myself. (It is my own number showing up on the display) When I answer it, I find that it is some kind of solicitation.
My question: is this something on my end or have the solicitors out there figured out how to confuse those of us that don't want their calls?
Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks.

Disturbing. Caller-ID can easily be spoofed, unfortunately. It looks like that's how the call came into us. Could be something that we could check for and reject in the future.

Thanks, Dennis. Just while I was reading your reply, another call came in the same way. I guess I'll have to stop answering the phone when I see my number on the caller ID.
