I've had Ooma for over a year, and disruptions have been extremely rare. I had Lingo VOIP for several years before that and lost service much more often. Ooma has been much more reliable. I also like that it resets itself after an outage. With Lingo, I had to go through a long annoying process to reset everything and get the phones working again.

have had ooma about 6 months now and for the first time tonight (as far as i know), the service went out. both the 1 and 2 buttons were lit up in RED at the same time and the blue ooma tag was red instead. the phone was dead. i tried unplugging the power cord from the hub a few seconds and then replugged it. then my computer indicated that the internet connection was back on. the ooma did a disco show having all the button lights come on in red. then a couple of minutes later, it started working again. weird.

I only paid $250 for fun....
I don't really need a phone.

I still can't fax on my dedicated fax line anyway- Customer service says it's fixed when it's not....
Now there's no failover....

The following link is to the Federal Trade Commission's complaint form, if anyone else is feeling up to it.

Keep in mind I didn't get connection until I rebooted my hub and telo, so if you have no service after the resets you may need to try that.

My Ooma hub show a blue tab and I have a dialtone, but when people try to call me, they get a dead connection... no ring, no busy signal, just dead air. I've tried it from my cell phone as well and get the same thing. Anyone else with the same symptom?

Come on Ooma... we went through this in April and I was inches from throwing my hub out the window, but things seemed to get better. You guys need to have better redundancy and failover; telephone service needs to be better than 5 nines... I don't care how cheap it is.

Agreed. While bouncing I could not call out even when it appeared to be online (Telo all blue lights). I power cycled and after about 10 minutes it came back online, and for now is working normally.

Same problem in Wisconsin. Ooma tab is alternating between red and blue. A few times I have gotten a dial tone, but when I try to make a call it doesn't go anywhere. People can't call us either.

Now calls go right into voicemail without a ringing even though I have a blue tab and a dialtone.

I wish mine were at least going into voicemail like yours!

Hub just went blue-red-blue while I was sitting here. Definitely not fixed yet.
