As stated earlier by someone else the PD will have your address and number. The problem would only occur if you were disconnected then the PD would not be able to call you back if you have anonymous call block on. Interestingly the PD is going to a voip system themselves so thus may solve the problem. I'll keep you updated.

I do have anonymous call block on. The way I see it, if you can't tell me who you are, why should I talk to you? If you're the PD calling me, what exactly is there to hide?

Probably internal numbers they don't want the public to have

Isn't that the entire justification for Caller ID spoofing so doctors can report their office number rather than their home number?

I'm not sure why we have all of our numbers blocked. There really is no reason I can think of other than maybe someone in the dept doesn't want someone to have their direct number. I'm trying to find out if when we get our new phones through voip if we will be able to unblock our number.

I've been using corporate VOIP systems for nearly 10 years. They work very well. I think you'll enjoy them.

I worked for a company when they converted over to voip. We were able to program the system to show the same caller id (DESK PHONE) no matter where the number originated from within the company.
Many options come with a business voip system. Very nice.

That's what I figured. I look forward to the new system. I wish it was like Ooma because I get telemarketing calls all the time at my number. I'd love to be able to block them. We'll see maybe I'll be able to.

You get telemarketing calls at your police department phone? That takes guts!
