T.38 Support Yet?

Post by dbayer » Mon Jun 23, 2008 10:43 am

Hi,

I've read the ooma KB articles on faxing. I'm really interested in using the T.38 protocol. Has ooma moved forward in their plans to implement this? Does anyone know of a T.37 Fax through SMTP provider and MFP device that uses it?

Thanks,
Daniel

Hi Daniel, T.38 fax support is not scheduled for development in the near-term roadmap, but it's definitely something we plan on implementing long-term.

The T.37 fax machines I found are fairly pricey - you may instead want to look into getting a desktop scanner, which can scan multiple pages and send them as an attachment via email.

Hi Bobby,

Thanks for the update. I've actually got my fax machine to work since I sent that message. What finally did it was turning the Baud Rate down to 9600.

You are right, they are expensive. I wish that T.38 was already ubiquitous, it would make this all much easier.
