Rebooting over and over again

My Ooma Telo is rebooting over and over

1 2
Then the rachng blue sequence along the bottom

Oona logo lights red
Blinks
Faster!
Faster! Goes Solid Red.

Than goes back to the "1 2" lighting up. Repeat forever.

Tried a factory reset (hold stop/trash) and got the ooma logo to bink red/blue, go to blue, and then go off. I let go of the buttons, and the infinite reboot continues.

What can I do now? Any way to squirt fresh firmware into it?

It looks like your Telo got the upgrade to 37410 but somehow got stuck in a reboot loop sometime after. Unfortunately we can't fix it remotely since the VPN connection to Ooma never gets established.

I've requested our support team to send you a replacement unit.

Wow, thanks. I will be a while (more than 30 days) before I can install it (and return the nonbooting unit) since I am leaving town for a few weeks starting Saturday. Regardless, I appreciate the prompt attention. Is it possible I did something wrong, or is it just one of those weird things?

I am very technical, so if there is any way to restore it without shipping a new one, I would be happy to jump through a bunch of hoops to do it. I am perfectly happy doing firmware upgrades, even if it involves setting up a TFTP server and dealing with Linux shells!

I already have an open case, <<#122439-104586#>>

There's a possibility that the replacement unit might reach your house by Friday. If it arrives after Saturday and no one is there to receive it, I think UPS will hold it for some time. If UPS returns the unit back to us, you may need to request another replacement unit when you get back from your travel.

We've had a handful of reports of Telos stuck in similar situations - so far we haven't determined a common cause for all the cases. I've requested your unit to be held for Engineering analysis when we get it back.

Unfortunately, we don't have a mechanism for end-users to re-flash the device via TFTP or some other mechanism.
