Calls go directly to voicemail without ringing!

Post by shnzrmom » Thu Oct 25, 2012 8:23 am

Just started having a problem receiving calls with Ooma Telo. We have Ooma Premier and ported our old number. Also kept the temporary number Ooma provided. When people call our old ported number (which we want as our main number) the calls go directly to voicemail. These are not annonymous calls or numbers on our blacklist. These are calls from people who call all the time. We also have our numbers forwarded to a cell phone. When the cell phone is on, the ported number rings and we can answer it. When the cell phone is off, the ported number sends calls to voicemail. We do not have voicemail set up and use an answering machine. We advised Ooma and they said they disabled the voicemail feature but obviously this is not the case. Any suggestions?

Your cell phone VM is picking up when cell is off or out of coverage.

Do "require key press" to answer forwarded calls: viewtopic.php?t=13873#p97345

If you have Ooma VM enabled, the calls will end up in Ooma VM.

Maybe you should go into My Ooma https://my.ooma.com/calling and select Mult-Ring.

Even if multi-ring if "key press required" is not enabled, turned off cell could cause Ooma non ring.
