Faxing through Ooma service

Post by suprcharg » Tue Feb 12, 2013 7:31 am

My baud rate is set to 9600 and Basic. Resolution is standard. I can get faxes to go through about 1 out of 5 times.
Anyone have tips for VOIP faxing?

Turn off or disable ECM (error correction mode), a setting, usually defaulted set to on, that many fax machines have.

Some people still say that using prfex *99, *98 or *96 still helps for outbound faxes, although Tom B. Ooma Moderator says it isn't needed.

Example: *98-1-xxx-xxx-xxxx

By setting the Brother 7860 to 9600, called basic (voip mode) it does this,
