PC/MAC Desktop Application Needed

Post by brohde » Sun Apr 21, 2013 3:21 pm

This system desperately needs a desktop application:

+ caller ID directly on screen
+ click to dial any contact or phone number (e.g., phone number on a web page)
+ record calls option
+ auto blacklist any displaying caller ID
+ all phone features available to desktop (call waiting, call forwarding, etc...)
+ No reason why this couldn't include video chat and screen share

Might not be exactly what you're looking for, but you can add some of these features to your desktop with W7 Caller ID if you have a PC in your home that you leave running. Even a little netbook with a USB modem might work. You will need a modem in the PC. You can block numbers from within W7 Caller ID. Stan's a good guy. Very helpful. I did some beta testing for him a year ago. You can also get notifications on a Mac with Growl.

Really most unfortunate. I can't believe there's something I miss terribly about Vonage. C'mon Ooma - you can figure it out.
