When you are about to setup up 2 separate lines using Linx (each number will ring different sets of phones), look up personal device here.

I winter in FL from MI. I have the Ooma Premier with a MI number and a FL number. I carry my Ooma back and fourth.

Both numbers will receive incoming calls on either number but you can only call out on what ever the primary number is. When in MI I go on line to Ooma support and ask them to make my Mi # my primary....takes just a few minutes. When I go back to FL I do the same thing and have them change my primary # to the FL one. All my phones in both locations are simple standard single line phones. Works like a charm.

In relation to Internet..........when I leave either location I have my Internet and cable suspended completely therefor I do not get a bill from them and will be considered a new customer when being connected back because I am normally gone for the 6 month period.........I have a friend who simply puts the internet into his wife's name to qualify for new customer discounts, really does not make much difference whose name that is anyway because you still have the same number which was the big thing to having to go with the Vacation Rate status....keeping your number, but with Ooma you still have it. Play with it a while and make it work for you. In most cases you can accomplish what you want.

If you are a Premier subscriber you can make or receive two simultaneous calls using the same phone number with one phone connected to the Telo and the second phone connected to a Linx. This is called the "Instant Second Line".

Ok, but actually it seems that I have to have the Ooma Telo handset in addition to Premier. If I understand it I cant just plug an old phone into the Linx. From Ooma help "There is no way to access the Instant Second Line unless you use an Ooma Telo Handset."

That was true before the Linx was introduced. It is no longer true.
